Last Journal Entry - Summative Assessment

Sumative Assessment Reflective Journal Entry In this Journal Entry, I will reflect upon the whole period of ~5 weeks where we learnt about an instrument of our choice. As mentioned previously, I have chosen the drumset. My memory isn't honestly that good, so I can't really mention my progress in an organized way. I will try my best though.            In the first class, we really didn't know what to do. I remember it was mostly having fun with the instrument and playing around with all the different drums that we were allowed to use. I mentioned that we had a limited amount of drums to use because we were just beginning. We only needed the kick, snare and the hi-hat. I'm also saying "we" because there were 3 of us in the drumset. Danna, Hanna and I had to take turns between each other to play, although Danna switched to singing a few classes later. I was horrible at the drums, and I couldn't even move my legs to play the pedals properly.   ...

Unit 2 - Learning How to Play an Instrument: Coordination Exercises

UNIT 2 Learning How to Play an Instrument Coordination Exercises (Drumset) This is the first class where we actually record our progress in the instrument we chose. I chose the drumset as my instrument for this unit, as it is the one that interested me the most. I was told to record a few videos of myself practising on the drums, so here I will list 4 videos of me doing the following coordination exercises. These coordination exercises are to make each limb independent from the other, and to learn the most common drum combinations that there are. I will now list the 5 videos of me doing these coordination exercises. One is a six minute long video where I do every exercise consecutively, and the others are each exercise alone. ((If they're not here, I will upload them to the classroom)) Lastly, I am supposed to choose a song to present as the summative assessment and to prove my newfound knowledge on this instrument. I think I will choose "Undone - The Sweater Song" by Wee...

Learning How to Play an Instrument We will be beginning Unit 2 with learning how to play an instrument. This will go on for the whole unit, and this is the first task. I am supposed to reflect and tell about my instrument playing abilities (for the drumset) and I will also reflect upon the statements of inquiry and contexts. I answered the following questions in the pictures below, inside my notebook:

SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT REFLECTION Criterion D This is my summative assessment reflection. I am supposed to analyze 4 questions the teacher linked in the classroom file and they are related to the process and presentation of Transcription, Solfege, and Clap and Count/Tah and Conduct. I chose to do these entries in my notebook, then upload pictures of them.

ARTS PROGRESS JOURNAL   MYP 3 A, Music Class Alfredo von Reckow This Reflective Journal is supposed to track and reflect about my journey through the music class, with each entry being for a certain assignment. I will talk about specific things that happen during the class, and my second thoughts on everything that has happened . ENTRY #1 In this entry, I will talk about the Tah and Conduct and Calpping methods to keep track of beats and how to read certain notes. We started off with the teacher sending us an ear training book. This book is supposed to help you and teach you to use the tah and conduct and clap and count strategies to keep up with a metronome, and how to read the different types of notes. My progress in this wasn't the best to start off with, as in the beginning I was uninterested. When I started taking interest into the process, I managed to have a somewhat decent conduction ability. The clapping strategy is way more easier, as my brain gets tangled on the conducti...
